I was reading one of the local weekly papers last night and noticed that a few of the print ads say things like:
“Find Us On Facebook! Search For (insert business name here)”
In my opinion, not everyone will even take the time to search for you and if they do you can’t be guaranteed that they will find YOUR page. Unless you have less than 25 fans, there is a very easy way to simplify the process for people who want to ‘Like’ you! Follow the steps below and you can then tell people to go to www.facebook.com/GarnetMarketing instead of www.facebook.com/5647fdhf$%$%^%*blah blah blah…
- Log in to your Facebook account
- Type www.facebook.com/username into your browser.
- It will walk you through the very simple process of choosing a name.
- Spread the word!! Now you can use www.facebook.com/CompanyName in print ads where you don’t have the luxury of linking
Things to consider:
- You cannot change the username that you choose, ever, so pick a good one!
- I suggest making it the same as your website URL if possible so it’s easy for people to remember.
Ex: www.companyname.com and www.facebook.com/companyname - When you promote it, use caps where it matters so people ‘get’ that it’s your business name.
Ex: www.facebook.com/GarnetMarketing These URL’s are not case sensitive.
